Old Compote/fruit bowl on brass and marble base

By sign_cutter, 17 January, 2012
Description

Large green bowl with 24 diamond tipped points on top. The bowl is in excellent condition...no chips, cracks, or scratches. The leaves of the base have tiny holes in them, as if hanging teardrop crystals could be missing. There is some greenish residue at bottom of brass feet, that I have not cleaned off. It is minimal, but I'm not sure what to use, or if I should just try to brush it off. On the underside of the brass it is stamped C.M.S. on one side, and 1833 on the other. Barely legible sticker on marble reads "marble base made in Italy"
