Italian made tapestry/cloth/coverlet???

By dnamom, 26 July, 2009
Description

We are not sure what to call this other than an Italizan weaving of some sort. Tapestry, maybe, or table cloth??? Regardless it is beautiful. It is of a pale sage green interwoven with silver threads. the green and silver are vertical stripes throughout, with a rose colored pattern of large scrolls and cherubs on it.

It has a small tag in one corner that says "Made in Italy". The tag is stapled to the fabric with tiny staples that appear to be getting a bit rusty. The tag is even a bit frayed, but still readable.

I do not know enough about antiques to tell about any identifying marks, etc. I have other pics if needed.

Would consider selling for the right price, and a good home.

History
My husband and I just purchased this item a few weeks ago from a woman selling it on Craig'slist. She sold it to us for $60.00, but told us she bought it for much more, but would not reveal what she paid ofr it orignially, and said she no longer had the receipt. Has a tag that says "Made in Italy" on one corner, that is stapled to it. The staples are a little rusty, so it looks as if they ahve been there for quiate a while.
