glass lantern

By Krista Crosson, 29 June, 2009
Description

this set appears to be a lantern set of some sort, however, there is no evidence of smoke or wax inside the unit. the main unit hangs from a chain and the lid is removable, which is why we believed it's purpose to be a candle holder, possibly. the smaller units possibly may have been mounted to posts, but again, no evidence of wax or smoke. the set was obviously used outside as the metal is rusted and weathered, but still in excellent condition. Hoping you will be able to tell us the approximate age, value and purpose of this set.
