F.W. Gromm "True" Low Profile Cabin Steamer Trunk

By zach.iroz@hotm…, 1 January, 2012
Description

F.W. Gromm Manufacturer is the maker established in 1873. The trunk was exposed to the elements so it is rusted, however, the original wood is in good condition. It is sheet metal (Cast iron?) banded with Wood. Original locks and clasps still intact as well as internal and external hinges. There is a small hole in the sheet metal on the bottom where the rust wore through, but otherwise the exterior is in great condition. Still has the original tag, as well as internal paper and canvas. Lock does not have key (functionality uncertain). There was a latch added near the original lock which I removed. Images are (in order) Front left, front center, front right, top, back right, back center, back left, left side, right side, and bottom.
