Egyptian Brass bowl

By redbank, 5 June, 2009
Description

This bowl looks to be hand hammered and made with a lot of detail sences of people and animals in between the larger hammered figures. It was dug up in Shrewsbury N.J., a colonial village settled in the late 1600's. The battle of Monmouth took place near hear and the British retreated through Shrewsbury to Sandy Hook N.J.. Since there were Tories here, someone might have buried the bowl to keep it safe and then forgot about it. There's also a figure of a large camel on the bowl which I didn't have room to send. Making a total of five large fiqures on the bowl.
