China service tray, French, dated August 1895

By zimafl, 25 June, 2009
Description

This fine piece of china was passed down through generations of family. I was told it had been appraised once by Lloyds of London, but I have no documentation of that appraisal. It is dainty, with no visible cracks or repairs. Two tiny chips along one edge. It is pink on the border, center is gloss white with hand painted flowers. Look like flowers might be roses, with leaves and thorns. White gloss part is edged in gold.

On back is stamped "FRANCE".
Also on back is the name, "J.B. Myers" or maybe "J.R. Myers", and the date, "August 1895". This piece most likely was dragged all over the USA, my great grandparents and grandparents were nomads who packed up and moved from NY to California, then to FL, Montana and who knows where else.

Was told this piece was very valuable. I also have a number of other fine antiques that I would consider selling.
