Antique Highboy Dresser W/Wheels Angelus Furniture Manufacturing Company

By chicklet360, 20 January, 2015
Description

I bought this from a guy about in his 40's that told me it was his great grandmothers and had been passed down through the family. When I first bought it, I intended on repainting it, but knowing it is a family heirloom, I felt kind of guilty repainting it without knowing it's age/value. It appears to be perhaps from the 1920's? 1930's? It is in original condition. All of the wheels are in tact, all the drawer pulls are in tact, the drawers work. No cracks or broken pieces. The finish is damaged (hence, the reason I wanted to repaint it). It is stamped with "MFD BY ANGELUS FURN. MFG. CO. LOS ANGELES, CAL"  on the back and I think the number 3114? I am very curious to know the age of this piece and it's approximate market value. Thanks!

History
I bought from a man in his 40's who told me it had been passed down to him from his great grandmother. I looked up Angelus Furniture Co. on google and saw that they started manufacturing furniture in Los Angeles in the 1920's. So it might be from that era? I can't tell what kind of wood it is made from though.
