Re: 3-piece WhiTman Painting

Paintings like this are virtually painted by "Starving Artists". They are painted to order for wholesalers that buy paintings cheap based on what selling, eg. "Surf on a beach" . Several copies are painted with minor variation on each theme, eg "give me fifty with a lighthouse, 10 with seagulls and twenty without". What this means is these paintings are really decorator art, though some are well crafted, they seldom apprecaite much in value unless the artist goes onto better things and attains some fame or notoriety.
