1870 Christian Johann Ficker (markneukirchen) violin

By pixalia, 17 June, 2009
Description

The bridge is cracked, and I was wondering if it is worth it to repair it or not? What would the violin be worth if it were in good condition? As is? Any input would be much appreciated!
I have included some pictures.

I can't really give you an appraisal , but I can tell you that replacing a bridge is a common thing for violins & is not really that expensive .

I've replaced a bridge on my own violin for only the cost of the bridge .

Best wishes to you & yours !

I'll try again to post a reply here ...

I can't give you an appraisal on your violin , but I can tell you that replacing a bridge is common & is not too expensive to do .

I've replaced one on my own violin , in the past , and although I did the notching for the strings - I paid only for the bridge .
