1740's Scottish Longcase (Grandfather) Clock

By vgkohn, 30 August, 2008
Description

We purchased the clock at an antique store recently and would like to know more about the piece.  We love it regardless of it's value but would really like to know if it is as old as it was portrayed.  I have been unable to find any reference on the web to either name on the face of the clock.  The scenes in the four corners of the clock face represent the four seasons of the year.  The seller referenced the iridescent green paint used as an important link to the age.

If anyone has additional information I would be most grateful if you would share it.  Thank you kindly in advance for any reply.

PS  I  have much better photos that I can email but they were to lare to post to this site.
