11" Mayan staue, circa 1000-1400AD from Zacalpa, Guatemala

By Desertmac, 4 September, 2017
Description

My late father left this Mayan staue to me. He was a prolific artist, and during the late '50s and early '60s he repaired some statuary for some collectors and institutions. This Mayan staue has a broken off foot, and that is why I assume he had it. I have no idea where he got it from. The foot-- still detached-- fits back perfectly so that it's hard to tell it was ever broken.

The tag on the bottom reads:

I would like to sell this piece, so I would greatly appreciate this community's appraisal of the worth of this statue, and possibly pointing me toward the best market or forum for selling pieces like this.

Thank you,

Mac Roseborough

History
I'm assessing the condition as fair. As I stated above, there is a broken off foot that fits back on perfectly, and there is a small section of the crown on the head that was broken off long ago and is not with the statue. Other than those two breaks, one of which can be eliminated with proper repair work (the right glue) the statue, ie: it's overall 'skin' surface, is in excellent condition.
Price
that's what I'm asking this community for, an appraisal
