Singer 337 in Cabinet

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Excellent
Description

The machine is Singer 337, Serial #EX348998. The cabinet has a slit top and both sides fold out to make a long table. Has a Parquet front (I think that is what it is?). Has a built in foot holder inside that stiill works. Cabinet has an engraved serial #T346377. Research tells me the cabinet is from the Eames Era and that it is an original Singer Cabinet, but I can not find anything else about it. It has since been polished up even more and is in excellent condition. A few small stains on cabinet top and some marks on the legs still remain.

Buffet

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This was an item in the kitchen of my wife's great-aunt. The cabinet is made of fir with a Beech or Birch top. There is a cutting board which pulls out with a brass handle, and two doors on the lower cabinet with brass key hole ornaments. There two wooden drawers (11cm high by 29cm wide) just under the retractable cutting board with ceramic knobs. The upper cabinet is divided into 17 compartments, which hold 16 cermaic drawers. The largest opening (19.5cm wide by 29cm high) is centered to the top. The white ceramic drawers are decorated with a band of cobalt blue, rose, lace pattern are in 3 sizes, the 6 largest (16cm wide by 11cm high) are placed 3 to either side of the large opening, and are marked; Tapioca, Riz, Vermicelle, Sucre, Chicorée, Café. There appears to be one drawer missing for the next size which is 10cm wide by 17cm high, placed under the large opening, the one remaining drawer is marked; Farine.
The smallest drawers are 7.5cm wide by 5.5cm high marked;
Thym, Girofie, Vanille, Cannelle, Epices, Laurier, Poivre, Muscade. They are placed 4 on each side, under the largest drawers, in the corners of the upper compartment. This whole structure is raised 35.5cm above the top of the lower cabinet. Any information, history, estimates, etc., concerning this piece of furniture is appreciated.

Kindel Furniture French Provincial Collection (dresser)

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I

have found reference to 310-2 bureau base in the 1955 price list. Based on this information, we know that the bureau is from the French Provincial collection. The standard finish for the 310-2 bureau was Chateau. The 1955 selling price for the bureau is $260.00. I believe it has original everything (including finish). It has signs of wear and tear on the finish, but overall very solid.
