slant top desk

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Looks very old, but someone covered the original, old, cracked finish with varnish or something (see photo, taken from the left side).

The piece is not "wobbley" at all, and is very well made. It was bought in Central California, in a very historical area.

The back legs are straight, and the front ones are shaped beautifully.

The drawers are tongue in groove.

Runci Painting

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Good
Description

Painting was a gift to my Mom. It appears in good to very good shape. Looks like original frame. I searched the internet and found that Runci painted "Calender Girls: in the 50's and his wife was a Graphic Artist in Los Angeles. Her name was Maxine, so it seems that this is a portrait of his wife.

Signature on front right hand corner of canvas: "Runci"

Hand-writing on back of canvas reads:

1st line - Painted 1957 - only one

2nd line - Maxine (Mrs. Edward) Runci

3rd line in quotations - "Invitation"

Stamp on canvas frame:

ALL REPRODUCTION RIGHTS RESERVED BY ARTIST

Signed: Edwaed Runci is hand written

Antique Dolls (Rare, do not know what they are)

Category

Condition
Good
Description

Heads are made of papier-mache with possibly felt over the papier mache, painted on faces, not sure if body is made of papier-mache or not, cloth or felt 'skin,' jointed shoulders and hips, hand made clothes which are sewn directly onto body, felt hats, leather on some parts of dolls, real hair.  I don't know much about these dolls, I'm looking for all the information I can get.  I'm not even sure of their ethnicity.  Very old!!  I am attaching many pictures.  Thank you in advance!
