I HAVE A APIR OF THESE, THEY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION, THEY ARE BLACK, AND WOOD COLORED, BEING FROM AGE BLACK HAS WORN OFF OF ALOT OF PLACES.
THEY HAVE WOODEN RODS TO NEAR THE TOP WITH A BAR AND SMALLER RODS TO TOP OF CHAIRS. IF YOU MIGHT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE, I CAN TAKE AND EMAIL PICS. [email protected]

Grandfather / Tall Case Clock - Solomon Parke

Description

Nearly 7’8” tall, Regency style, beautiful cherry case with elaborate moldings and display. Brass movements and weights in great condition and appear to be original. Oval-Shaped glass on the sides, key locking lower door and Queen Anne type feet. Eight day moon-face movements. Roman numeral style dial bears the signature of the maker - Solomon Parke - Phildea. Hands appear to be original. Weight driven brass movement with hand painted dial, inset calendar dial and seconds bit, Regency style bonnet with three hand carved wooden finials, inlay throat door with burl center panel flanked by beveled columns, well proportioned base mounted on splayed feet, Guaranteed authentic.

  

CLOCKMAKER:  Solomon Parke, Philadelphia, ca 1791- 1822. Settled in Newtown, Pa. in Colonial days and continued as a clockmaker for many years. He first appeared in Philadelphia business directories in 1791 and continued in the clock making business in Philadelphia until 1822.

 

CONDITION:  Overall great condition, especially for being 200+ years old! All parts in tact and in good working order. Superior Maintenance. Veneer maintains high luster. A few minor chips and abrasions consistent with age. Lower right bonnet molding cracked. Wood remnants included for restoration. Requires professional winding. Lower door sticks. Some movement pieces not connected.

1971 Pennsylvania House Trestle Table

We have the table, 2 leaves, 2 captains chairs, 2 regular chairs and a bench.  The chairs are listed as Catkin arm chairs.  There is a number stamped under the table as well.  It is 153113.  I don't know if that is the style number or not.

I do not know how old it is or where it came from but my grandfather said it was "worth keeping" He doesn't usually keep anything. When my great-great- aunt died in the early 80s, my grandmother and her sister were left her estate. They drove up to San Francisco from Los Angeles to sort out her estate they only brought home a few prize possessions this rug being the biggest thing.
