Fox Theater, Riverside, CA - Copper Ticket Souvenir - 1929

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have a copper souvenir ticket from The Fox, Riverside, California.  On the left lower side of the ticket it states:  The Show Place of the Orange Belt.    On the lower right side, lower part, are the signatures of the President, Division Manager, and Manager.   At the top of the ticket is The Riverside Theatre, West Coast Theatres, Wm Fox Organization.  In the middle is Souvenir Admission Ticket, Opening Night, January ll, 1929.  My ticket is in excellent conditions. No dents at all.

I am Patricia Jenkins Richmond, and my Dad always talked about his years with the Fox Theater in Riverside.  He told me as a child, and my husband, Donald Richmond, and myself that he saw Judy Garland when she was 12 years old (Gumm sisters) at the Fox in Riverside.  He said the whole stage crew stopped and listened to her sing.  One man said, it was as if she was singing to him alone.    He also told me as a child, and Don and myself, that he was a projectionist for the the preview Gone With The Wind.

My mom, Irilda Miller Jenkins, compiled nine genealogy books after she retired.  This ticket was with the genealogy information, in the book about my Dad.  My Dad passed away n 1990.

Hand Carved Wall Tables

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Wall mount tables with bird carvings. Each is about 20.5" wide, 12.25" deep and 30.5" high. The bird carvings on each table is different than the other. Also, the wood skirt around the tables varies slightly on each. Each has the same signature of "J.A. Cumming". The following was found describing him http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fcampaignfurniture.com%2Fexhpdfs%2FCC2013%2520vAWa.pdf&h=HAQH6j-cG

J. A. Cumming and it is very

possible that it refers to the Political Agent

for Yanam. He was also a District Magistrate

in Madras and was involved in collecting

items for the Indian Art Exhibition held at

Delhi in 1903
