silver knight oak cabinet

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

I have a solid oak  highboy that has a tooled leather design of a knight  in silver armor on a horse on his hind legs, with a road leading to a faint castle. It has double doors that opens up to one shelf. It has a pull out drawer on top of that. It is 59 1/2 inches tall ,36 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. There is a solid slab on top that is 41 1/2 inches wide ,161/2 inches deep and 1 inch thick. It has hammered iron hardware. The front opens with a slide latch. There is no marks to indentify that I can find. I have never seen any thing with the leather design inserted in the cabinet. anything you could tell me woule be much appreciated.                                                                                               Thank you ,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Kelly Rasella

1948 Circus Sam toy

Category
Antique Toys
Condition
Excellent
Description

This toy is from 1948 and called Circus Sam the high stepin' man.  I can not find any information about it.  The game is being reproduced today.  It is an educational game used to teach basic physics to children, there are rings to play ring toss with Sam, and the base of the pole he stands on is a clock so children can learn to tell time.

The company name on the box is Lindex Corporation, New York.

Sam is in his original box, which is complete but in rough condition.

What is the value of this great old toy?

Thanks!

Duncan Phyfe couch?

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

an approximately 7 foot long couch - was recovered several years ago - orginal (?) fabric was a gold satin finish fabric with a slight floral woven pattern in it.  It has claw feet that appear to be a bronze-like metal.  The closest I can come to a possible description would be a Federal Revival Style couch in a Duncan Phyfe style. I was looking for any information and a possible value on it.

thanks

Janice
