Appraiser Remarks
There is not much history out there about the Rembrandt Lamp Co. but what we do know is that Rembrandt lamps are often sought after for their unique shaping, and designs.
Based on the image, lamps like this tend to date from the 1920's through mid 1930's and is typical of lamps made during that period.
Your lamp dates circa 1925 and is patterned after French "Boulliotte" lamps, the name comes from a French card game popular in the late 1700's. Original Boulliotte lamps were candle lamps under which the game was played. These table lamps had wax candles with a shade around them to reduce the candles' glare, the shades were originally made of tin or brass so that they wouldn't catch on fire from the candles. They also had an adjustable center rod that allowed the shade to be adjusted up or down. In the 1920's, electrified versions of Boulliotte lamps became popular. Their characteristics remained the same but they were more for décor than for function. Values for these lamps vary by condition, style and shade type, those with decorative Mica shades being the most sought after. At auction comparable lamps often sell in the $150.00- $275.00 range if in good condition. Those in need of rewiring or restoration sell for a good deal less.
