Footstools(2), circa1800-1825, veneer with turned feet

Profile picture for user Lovejoy
By Lovejoy, 7 January, 2017
Accurate Description of Item
One Pair of Empire Period Foot Stools, Walnut or Mahogany veneer, with short baluster turned feet
Appraiser Remarks
Your pair of stools are in the American Empire style, which peaked in popularity from 1815-30. Stools like these were made in all native hardwoods as well as imported mahogany and rosewood right into the 1850's. Based on what we can see in the images, this set appears to be walnut, but could also be Cuban mahogany.

Values for Empire and Early Victorian furniture last peaked during the early 1990's, but demand for it has declined a great deal since then. We would recommend a value for donation purposes for this pair of stools in the $300.00- $450.00 range.
Estimated Value
$300.00- $450.00
