Based on your images your desk dates Circa 1875 and is loosely based on the Renaissance Revival style. It's a piece of a type that would have been made in a smaller cabinet shop outside of the more urban areas of Southern Ontario Canada and The American Eastern Seaboard.

Values last peaked for desks like this back in the late 1980's, along with the then hot trend for Victorian decorating., since then values and demand has declined considerably, with comparable examples now selling at auction in the $300.00 $500.00 range.
