white glass sunflowers/ashtrays

These are in good shape, no dings. pure white glass. Both sunflowers are indented on opposite side each with four flattened out petals apparently for cigarettes. Flip them over to have sunflower decoration. small one is 3 1/4" in diameter, large one is 5 1/2" both with 1/2" bowl. I am assuming this may come from a period where smoking was considered unladylike or something of the sort and these were for the housewife to 'hide' her smoking. but I really have no idea.
