Victorian fabric picture

By davidzel13, 17 January, 2019
Description

I bought this fabric “Victorian” picture at an antique store in Ohio. A woman that seemed to work there or maybe even be an owner of the shop informed me of the following upon inquiry. The woman said that she actually knew the previous owner of the piece, she stated that this woman was a friend of hers. She told me that the previous owner, owned and lived a Victorian home that was full of victorian items (antiques?).

She further added that the woman that owned this bought it from an antique store many (many, many) years ago. I assumed that I could have been purchased anywhere between 1950’s through the 1970’s, but that is just my guess as in relevance to today’s date. She also mentioned that the frame was gilded. I asked about the frame because the front looks plastic. The paint was coming off and the plastic looked like it was cracking.

The back of the frame is made of wood and there was left over paper on the back of the frame. I figured that the owner or the employee of this antique store told me everything she could of the piece.
