Vanity with Full Length Mirror & two movable side flap mirrors

By jane5190, 20 May, 2009
Description

This is a beautiful hard wood vanity with a full length mirror in the middle and two movable side-flap mirrors so you can see your back side. Has three drawers on each side, one narrow one and two deep ones. This sounds almost identical to the request submitted on this website by Sharon Pugh entitled 1900-1920s Vanity. I am submitting a picture and if Ms. Pugh ever returns to this site perhaps she could tell me if this is very similar to her piece. We bought this at a yard sale on 5/17/09 for $100. It is in almost perfect condition, a slight bit of clouding on the full length mirror. Thank you for your thoughts on appraisal value.

Re: Vanity with Full Length Mirror & two movable side flap ...

Vanity's of this type date from the 1920's- early 30's and are in the Colonial Revival style, designed to resemble furniture made during the American Colonial period (1620-1780). Comparable vanity's sell "As Is" sell for anywhere from $100.00- $250.00 at auction depending on local demand.

Thank you Lovejoy. Sounds like it is the same or a similar piece to that described by Sharon Pugh.
