Stick Horse

By swifty, 16 December, 2008
Description

Hi, This stick horse was found in the attic of a 95 yr old collector (friends parent). There were lots of antiques in the home. That said, I feel this may be a reproduction, but have felt that way on other items of theirs and was dead wrong..... on more than one occasion. If this is authentic, it belongs in a museum. Looks too good to be true. However I stand to be corrected. They would like to sell it.

Re: Stick Horse

IMHO this is a reproduction, comparable pieces flooded the antique market during the 1980's to early 90's. Most were purcashed to "fluff out" Antique dealers stock of Victoriana, which at the time was all the rage. Most today are just considered as decorator items, value- less than $50.00.
