solid wood sculpted rocking horse - real leather saddle & rein - real horse hair - metal foot mount

By DanADaMan, 19 June, 2017
Description

Newbie here.  Just bought a solid wood rocking horse at a garage sale.  Although I didn't know the true value, the price was almost a give away so I didn't ask too many questions in the fear of someone else wanting it and possibly bidding it up, or to give away its possible true value.   The seller was in her mid 40s, and all the seller told me is that it was bought by her mother-in-law for her kids and that it was bought in Pakistan.  Based on that I'd guess it is about 20 years old - but I could be wrong.

There is a tag on the rockers syaing "Royal Furniture Peshawar Pakistan" (see pic).  The horse is in great shape all over.

I couldn't find much on the internet for this parrticular horse.  I did check ebay and see that sculpted rocking horses can range anywhere from a few hundred up to $5000.  I also looked through some local high end furnture stores and did find one store that sells a similar sized wood rocking horse for $3700.

So, does anyone have any idea of what this is worth?   Is this only a few hundred, or do I have a treasure here?

BTW - I didn't take measurements, but you can see it against my pool table and the head sticks up about a foot above it.  And if I had to guess I'd say it is about 5' long

Thanks
