Description

SMALL RED PORCELAIN ORIENTAL BOX WITH METAL DRAGON & PHOENIX SYMBOLS ON LID, ROUGH ORIENTAL DRAWING PAINTED ON THE INSIDE BOTTOM AND HALLMARK ON THE OUTSIDE BOTTOM

I don’t know much about this item except it’s of Asian origin and it was bought at an Estate Sale.

METAL DRAGON & PHOENIX CONNECTED TOGETHER ON TOP OF THE PORCELAIN, POTTERY OR CERAMIC LID AND PAINTED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE INSIDE IS WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE AN ORIENTAL PERSON STANDING IN THE SNOW. THERE ARE BIRDS FLYING NEAR THE MOUNTAINS IN THE BACKGROUND. I THINK ANOTHER CHARACTER PAINTED IN THE FOREGROUND IS A DOG, MAYBE? OTHER CHARACTERS OR SYMBOLS ARE A MYSTERY TO ME AS IS WHAT THIS WAS USED FOR AND HOW OLD COULD IT BE?

POSSIBLY THE HALLMARK ON THE BOTTOM WILL BE RECOGNIZABLE TO SOMEONE.

I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY KIND OF HELP IDENTIFYING THIS WONDERFUL ORIENTAL ITEM.

I HOPE I SHOWED ENOUGH IN MY PICTURES BUT IF MORE PICTURES ARE REQUESTED I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH TAKING MORE.

Thank You Very Much,

~Fox
