Sellers Baker's Cabinet

By awnry4, 6 September, 2009
Description

My mom bought this baker's cabinet several years ago. She paid $750 for it. She gave it to me since she didn't have room for it. I don't really have room for it, either and was thinking of selling it. However, I'm not sure if I want to sell it or try to get rid of something else and keep it. I don't know much about the value of these cabinets. This one appears to be in good to excellent condition. It is made of solid wood and has a wood top. It has the flour sifter on the left hand side. It has a pull-out board under the countertop. The insides of the drawers and bottom cabinet have been painted white. I'm not if this is original or not. Additonally, the bottom cabinet has a slot that appears to have been for some type of slide out shelf, and a slat has been placed there. There is a metal tag in the middle of the top cabinet that reads "Sellers". It has been refinished. The back has the name of the refinisher and the date (1989). It may have originally been white. I don't know how old it is or what it's worth. I don't know a whole lot about these. Sorry about the cell phone pictures - I was going to sell it in a yard sale and changed my mind. Any help in dating this or the history of the Sellers company or the worth of this item would be greatly appreciated!
