Rosewood Petticoat Table

By nansmystery, 8 May, 2007
Description

The front braces/legs have scoring and chips and the table top has a few glass stains from where glasses were placed.  Not too noticeable.  This is an unaltered piece of furniture, nothing has been modified to my knowledge.

Only markings noticeable are:  1319A, 05373 and the number 8.

Has wooden wheels.

Original Mirror to my knowledge, one small scratch near upper right corner (facing table front).

Based on your images this is

Based on your images this is an Empire styled piece, these were made circa 1840. Generally they were veneered in crotch cut mahogany, but rosewood was also used. Value wise, the demand for Empire pieces is currently very weak compared to other styles made during the same period. Value $350.00
