“Romeo and Juliet” Figure. Signed L. Gregoire Circa 1870's

Description

41 ½ inches tall, cast bronze and painted brown and gold trim “Romeo and Juliet” Figure. Signed L. Gregoire. Rounded platform base with full standing figures at center. Finely detailed in ever way; shoes, clothes, hats, figures. Very detailed base. French, Circa: 1871 – 1920. 

Platform base 37 ½ inches tall consisting of white variegated marble. 16 ½ inch square step cut base. 4 rounded and tapered columns at center, all ringed at top and base. Top has revolving base insert to be used with bronze figure group described above.

History
Purchased by Aunt's husband in San Francisco in 1960's. He was a very knowledgeable collector of art items.
