RARE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN sarcophagus with ushabti inside

you are bidding on  RARE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN sarcophagus with ushabti inside this sarcophagus sit is believed it belongS the 14 th dynasty

The sarcophagus is in the shape of a mummy. The cover portrays the deceased with all his accessories and his decorated shroud. 

He wears a long wig reaching his chest that leaves the ears exposed. He also wears a false beard, and a large collar with many lines. Under the collar, a winged goddess and two eyes of Horus are depicted for his protection. 

His hands are flat on his body, which is covered with many crossed hieroglyphic bands. The bands bear the magical formula from the Book of the Dead to protect the deceased. 

 

 

ushabti

Shawabties or ushabtis  are small statues placed in the tomb to take the place of the dead and doing the heavy work that was needed in the Netherworld. The name Shawabti comes from the verb wesheb meaning "to answer", as they had to obey all the orders given to them
