Railroad padlock

Description

On the front of the padlock to the left of the keyhole, the initials N.Y.C.S engraved and to the right of the keyhole is the word MOON. On the keyhole cover, the word CORAIN is in a circle above the words Made in U.S.A. On the key, the letters N.Y.C.R.R is engraved on the front and the numbers 20635 is on the back. The lock operates easily and without difficulty. There is approximately 10 links of a metal chain attached to the padlock. We are interested in finding out the history and the approximate appraisal value of this lock.

According to an older friend, this lock came from the New York Central Station railroad. It was used app. before the 1950's when the Central Station was closed.
