Description
This rather large piece has been in my family for at least 70 years. It was obtained in post-war Germany before the D-mark came into use when the economy was often barter. I remember our 'fireman' (coal furnace) bringing these items for my mother to see. I would appreciate any information about the piece. I'm not sentimental about it, just curious. Thank you.

From the page I linked it looks like they used that mark and sticker from 1935 - 1972.

Thank you. The dates and mark fit with the history. Doubt if these pieces will be in vogue again anytime soon - lol.

Marks comment is spot on, the marking was used until 1972. These figurines were knock offs of 18th and 19th century examples by the well known German maker Meissen and later pieces by companies centered in Dresden Germany up until WW2. Sadly the market for them is pretty weak right now.

Thank you. Interesting that they made these between the world wars. Wouldn't think there was much of a market for them during the depression. Anyway, thanks again.
