Oval Oriental Coffee Table with 6 Chairs

Profile picture for user BRISTOMD
By BRISTOMD, 24 August, 2014
Description

It was my first restoration project , bought it from a friend and it was in rough shape. It was splitting in the middle and it wasn't very sturdy. I separated each piece, removed the original lacquer, hand sanded it all down, stained it a red mahogany and double coated some poly to finish it. Has a glass top, has 4 corner chairs and 2 middle chairs. Each leg facing outward has a claw foot. It is 56" long, 35" wide and is 21" high. The corner chairs are 12"L 13"W and 14"H, and the middle chairs are 15"L, 12"W and 14"H - The entire set weighs 109 pounds total, including glass top and each chair.

It was put together with all flat head screws that had a shallow head for the driver and held together from the screws being angled almost sideways into the next piece. It was horrible taking it apart.

I'm sorry but I dont know what else to say about it, thats all I got. Thank you !
