not sure - home decor of some type

By Glenda Dewbre, 18 September, 2009
Description

The top and bottom are open. The top has a lid with a hole in the center. The handles are the head of elephants. There are green leaves rising from the bottom most of the way to the top. There are colored butterflies above of the leaves. The color is some type of medium inlayed into the brass.

I am interested in selling this item but would like to have more history on it before pricing.

Re: not sure - home decor of some type

I have not set a price yet. I still do not know the history. I just know my mother felt that it was a very important piece. Maybe I should not have said that it is for sale but if I can find out more about it I do intend to sell it.

Looks like a lamp base. If it has holes in top and bottom then thats what it is/was.

Re: not sure - home decor of some type

I'm not so sure. The lid is not a great fit and the hole in the lid is only about 5/8". Except for the lid we have always thought of it as an umbrella holder.
