Mt. Airy Chair Company Table

Profile picture for user Savvy1378
By Savvy1378, 19 June, 2018
Description

The table is designed to fold open into a larger dining table on sliding rails. It has spring loaded pins that lock the table in place on both sides.
The letter R is stamped in the same spot on opposite sides of the table. The only other markings are 2439 TABLE underneath. There are no other labels unfortunately.
It has a drawer that has the Mt. Airy Chair Company North Carolina stamp on the inside. It's a beautifully designed console/dining table. I don't have much information about it. I was told the letter R could stand for Raymond Sabota.
It is a one of a kind and have never seen anything like it.
The table us in excellent condition for its age.

Re: Mt. Airy Chair Company Table

Your table is in the French Provincial style, which has gone through numerous revivals in popularity since the mid 1700's. Most like this one date from the second quarter of the 20th century. No huge value, most go at auction theses days for under $150.00
