Mid Century Modern Huge Lava Drip Glaze Ceramic Hanging Lamp

By CynGV, 30 July, 2016
Description

This lamp was purchased in the mid 1960's from a high end furniture store in Covina, CA called R. V. Furniture. I think he said 1966.

Mid Century Modern Hanging / Swag - Lamp / Light - Ceramic Drip Glaze looks to be a Cream base with Yellow, Orange & Browns. The bottom Vent area is a rough finish in a Dark Brown.

No markings that I can find other than a number "4" on the inside.

its about 3 feet tall maybe 17" wide approx. Looks Hand Made. Very Heavy incredible well made Lamp. It has vents at the lower sides that are covered in possibly an Orange colored Plastic & there is a another PC. That attaches underneath to the light. It has a white circle to cover the opening so you can not see inside looking up while its hung & limit the amount of light from the bottom. This second PC has a cone kind of shaped ceramic PC that acts as a bottom cap.

i would appreciate any & all info anyone has on this item. I need to start choosing items to let go of for friends as well as my own family and furnishings are not really my area so I have let them kind of add up. I just think there's something special about this lamp. Normally when I do research on items like this I don't hear back from consignors or dealers but this item is getting responses quickly.

Thanks for looking!!!
