meriden britannia silver

By lovespell, 23 October, 2008
Description

Meriden Britannia Company marked sait and pepper shakers. I was told by another site that they might be quadurplated. I don't even know what that means. I just want to know more about this item which seems to date back around the 1800's. I would like the history and value if any can be obtained without having to pay from someone's expert opinion which I can't afford. All and any informationtion would be helpful. Thank you.

History
I had recieved them from my sister's friend who lived next door. He was moving and wanted to know if she knew anyone who could use housewares. So, my sister took them all and gave them to me. Another thing I can tell you is this is not the only item. I have crystal, pewter, and china as well.
