Lane Cedar Chest

Description

Cedar chest was made in Alta Vista, Virginia in the early 1940s.  Manufacturers is Lane  It has a multi-hardwood parkay exterior and cedar interior. the cedar scent is as storng as the day it was pruchaed.  the Style Number is 2043 and the Serial number is 441090.  the top is a litlte dull from having blankets laid on it but the sides and the interior are mint.

cedar chest purchased as a hope chest by my sister in 1944. Her army boy went off to the war and never returned. She never used it.

Lane Cedar Chest

Lane was probably the largest maker of these cedar chest, which numbers in the millions. In the current market the late 1930's to early 40's. Most comparable pieces sell for about $300.00. Lovejoy
