Kneeling Teppanom Thai Buddha Statue Wood, richly decorated, large

Profile picture for user Antiquebuddhas
By Antiquebuddhas, 23 February, 2013
Description

Large wooden Asian Statue, richly decorated and painted with gold, red, colors, glass, stones etc.

Has been in storage for a long time, passed on by a friend. It has several cracks, heavily withered, but in its entirety has an incredible aura of energy as if it came to life any moment. I do not know its age or specific original country  but it seems to be from Burma or Thailand.

It is about 48 inches tool from toe to the tip of the crown. The figure is on its knees, supported by its toes. It is made from a single piece of wood, and has a removable tip.

Re: Kneeling Teppanom Thai Buddha Statue Wood, richly...

This is a reproduction Thai angel (NOT a Buddha!), contemporary made to look old. Very little value beyond decorative.
