John Widdicomb Diner Table

By Octavio, 18 December, 2012
Description

I got a diner table from John Widdicomb, not sure how old it is as I bought it at an antique shop many years ago and it now sits in storage as I do not have the space for it.

It has a metal plate with the Widdicomb name on the bottom of the table and also has the John Widdicomb brand on the bottom of the chairs

It is a beautiful piece, its got 6 chairs where 2 have arm rests and are the end chairs and they are all velour, the seating part and the back rest. The other 4 chairs are velour on the sitting area and the back rest is weaved and they do not have the arm rests.

The center part to extend the table is missing (I bought like this)

It is in good condition, but chairs need to be re upholstered and the table now has a piece on the round edge under the top that is unglued a bit. I assume it is a simple restauration process.

The wood is in very good condition throughout, I've taken care of it.

I would like to know the value of it as I need to sell it..  It is costing me to keep it in storage. It is a beautiful piece but unfortunately I have no room for it.

Many thanks for any inputs..
