John Harper & Co Cast Iron "Standing Bear" Still Banks

By dasamach, 5 September, 2014
Description

Hello,

I am in possession of two cast iron 'Standing Bear' still banks which I believe to be by John Harper & Co, England circa 1910. I have come to this conclusion thanks to many internet searches.

Essentially I am hoping to know as much detail about these pieces as possible and an estimate of their true value. I do wish to sell these pieces.

The banks seem to be in excellent condition. Stand about 6 inches tall and have no visible markings aside from 'Made in England' around the rear coin slot.

Any information or appraisal value would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: John Harper & Co Cast Iron "Standing Bear" Still Banks

You'd pretty much need to have the bear physically appraised, reproductions of most of these still banks have been made since the 1980's, but even so the originals often go at auction for less than $200.00 these days.
