J. Gould and W. Hart del et lith, Walter Imp.

By ducedaisy, 4 December, 2008
Description

I do not have access to provide pictures, but I have seen this on-line.  It is called SPARANGURA GLYCERIA.  In the lower left hand corner is "J. Gould & W. Hart del et lith" and in the lower right hand corner is Walter, Imp.  The paper has not yellowed at all (which would indicate to me that it might not be a 1940s reproduction).  Upon review with a magnifying glass, I am not seeing signs of a pattern of "dots" (which would also indicate a 1940s reproduction).  However, I am certainly no expert so would be interested in it's value if it is an original as well as if it is a 1940s reproduction.

History
I found this in a friend's attic. She has no appreciation for antiques or fine art. I bought this from her, along with "Number 1 of a Series of Paintings by Arthur Singer" and "Number 2 of a Series of Paintings by Arthur Singer" for my mother, who loves bird prints (Audobon, etc.). To be honest, I had no idea what I was buying...I simply knew that new frames and matting would make perfect Christmas gifts for Mom. However, I worked in the antiques business for many years and, upon further review, realized they may, in fact, be worth something. They were owned by my friend's (deceased) grandmother, who was a well-to-do woman who died at age 95 in 2002.
