Imperial desk, grand rapids, MI

By amylamp, 29 April, 2013
Description

I purchased a desk from an estate sale and am looking to see what it is worth.  I believe it is a writing desk made by Imperial.  I have attached a couple of pictures.  One is of a mark on the inside of the drawer that says "Imperial, grand rapids, MI".  There is also a picture of a number that is located underneath the desk, number is 1423.  Please let me know if you need additional information.

Re: Imperial desk, grand rapids, MI

Here's a link about the company that made this piece, they operated from 1903-1954 making Colonial and Federal style furniture. The marking on this one was used from about 1939 onward. This one looks like it needs repair, most like this in need of work often go for less than $150.00.

Re: Imperial desk, grand rapids, MI

Thank you!! Would it be worth more if I had it refinished? It is very stable.
