Golden Wedding

Profile picture for user Linsappraisal

Description

This is an original wedding invitaion. It is dated 1855-1905. My uncle was Clarence Drescher was my uncle. He had a candy store in Buffalo, NY. Some may call him famous. This is a little clip I found:

More like a chocolate candy than like a traditional fudge, our Melt Away Fudge recipe originated in the 1920’s by famous Buffalo candy maker Clarence Drescher. After making Melt Away Fudge and many other candies, Drescher had many suitors come calling for the recipe nearly 70 years later when he decided to hang up his apron. He choose young candy maker Richard King as much for their kindred spirits and work ethic as for their ability to look one another directly in the eye (both men stand significantly under 5’4”.)

Our Original Melt Away Fudge is exactly as Mr. Drescher made it, as is our Nut variety – the original with chopped walnuts added. In 1999, Rich added a darker version, his Midnight Melt Away, which has met with great success.
