Re: Gold pocketwatch

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in this 1890 heirloom. The average price for this Elgin would be $5,000, but since the bezel and crystal are missing, I will offer it to you at $3,800. Aside from that, it is in pristine shape.

Re: Gold pocketwatch

This is not a $5000 watch. I can't tell from the photos but it looks like the case is more likely gold plated than solid gold, I would need to see the hallmarks. It is also not in pristine shape, the case looks quite worn. Furthermore for a more accurate value the serial numbers off the watch movement are needed. With that said it looks like a standard mass produced watch at first glance and unless quite rare I'm afraid this is probably an under $250 watch unless the case is actually gold. Please post more info!

Re: Gold pocketwatch

If this watch contains any gold content there will be markings on it to indicate that, such as "10k", "14k" or "18k". If there are any marks on the watch it would be easier to sell it if you listed them.
