Carved Italian Renaissance Sgabello hall chair

By Jpadkins1988, 6 August, 2018
Description

Hi there. My name is Julie and I live in Charlotte, NC. I’m trying to find out how much an antique chair is worth that belonged to my grandmother. She was born in the late 1800s, and she was from France initially, so I was told it was French. We always called it the Napoleon chair, because she had a little painting of Napoleon up above it. From research online of similar looking chairs, it looks like to me that it is Italian Renaissance (though it still could have been French from what I have read) and called a Sgabello chair. I can’t find any markings on it. I see antique sites online selling similar chairs from about $500 to $2000 range, but I need to know specifically how much I could expect to get from a buyer. Thank you so much.
