Cambridge Glass Co. Amber Console Dish 715 Willow or "Blue Willow" Pattern

By sunray1, 24 September, 2013
Description

I picked up a very cool amber glass console dish (abt. 12 inches round) that after searching all evening, I believe that I have properly identified as Cambridge Glass Co. in the "715 Willow or Blue Willow" pattern.  It has the blue willow doves, three men on a bridge, and boat scene in the middle, and the same scene repeated around the perimeter of the dish three times.  The dish has about a 1 inch deep "bowl" that has a very detailed etched trim.

I am frustrated by being unable to find other similar pieces to get an idea what value, if any, that others believe that their own dish is worth.  I saw only one in an online auction, but it was painted or otherwise had additional "bling".  The one that I have is simple and in great condition with the exception of a few scratches on the bottom.  Any thoughts on value?  Otherwise, I will use it and enjoy it in my kitchen as a fruit bowl!

Re: Cambridge Glass Co. Amber Console Dish 715 Willow or ...

Hi- I recently sold a depression glass console bowl with matching candlesticks and it was suprising how little they go for these days.  I think they have gone out of fashion and the market is not hot for them now.  The one I sold, was not in this pattern but it was in mint condition with very thick gilded border on all  3 pieces..  I think I only got $30 for it.  I have searched etched console bowls and found none in a similar pattern , like you, but it appears that etched cambridge glass console bowls are going in the range of $30- $50 for nice one....which I would consider yours to be.  I am not an expert , but I know that somthing is only worth what somebody will pay....and people just are not paying a lot for console bowls these days....it is sad since pieces like yours are so beautiful.
