Some friends found this in a trash heap on their property and gave it to me when I was a little kid because I love horses.
It has no copyright date but is from the Mershon Company, Rahway, NJ and New York.
There is a letter, handwritten in calligraphy pen in the front that reads:
North Water Gap, PA
Dear William Robson, Please
read this little Book. You will find it interesting
and the lesson it endeavours to teach-Kindness to the Horse (underlined) well worth your consideration.
Ever remember, that animals have feelings, and enjoy pleasure or suffer from pain as much as you do, therefore, do all you can for the comfort and pleasure of your fellow creatures, be they horses or anything else of the animal form. In doing so, you will not only make them happy, but also bring happiness and pleasure to yourself. Yours truly, Uncle Andrew Scott Christmas 1903
