Bench with Table Top

I know nothing about this but it seems like an interesting piece. The table top comes off to form a bench. The main thing I am interested in is what this is called. I've searched the antique sites but have found nothing like it.

As you can see from the photos, the top is in really nice condition. The bench is not so good and it looks like it has been repaired at some point around the joints.

Any info at all on this would be very helpful.
