Basic-Witz buffet & hutch

By KELDEANE, 15 February, 2019
Description

I recently acquired this Vintage MCM Basic-Witz Hutch & Buffet.  I cannot find another one like it anywhere on the internet.  I have been told it is extremely rare, & high value, but would like to get some valid information & value for a good source.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Basic-Witz buffet & hutch

According to a 1941 issue of FURNITURE WORLD, "Basic-Witz Furniture Industries, Inc., Waynesboro, VA, manufacturers of bedroom and dining room furniture, have been in existence for 50 years, having started in a small way back in 1889" They operated out of Virginia and produced a full line of furnishings in most styles including MCM. No huge value though, comparable pieces often sell for under $500.00.

There are no comparable pieces to this set, that is my issue and question here.  I am looking for information on this exact set.
