Barbour Silver Company Tea Service

By cairosam, 23 November, 2008
Description

There are five pieces and one lid - it seems one lid is missing, for the smaller bowl.  There is a creamer and two tea pots.  One pot is taller than the other.  There are two very similar pieces that I assume are sugar bowls, one is slightly smaller than the other, and the smaller is missing its lid.

The set has a sort of Grecian flair to it.  It is not particularly ornate, and is kind of masculine - but very beautiful.  All pieces have an engraved letter B, although I guess that's neither here nor there.  On the handles of the tea pots there are two black bands - I'm not sure what theyre made of, possibly enamel.  The lids on the tea pots are hinged, they do not come off.

Circle logo on bottom of all the peices reads"BARBOUR SILVER CO." In the middle of the circle it says "SILVER," and around the bottom of the circle it says "QUADRUPLE." Underneath, there is an engraved number 2441 on all of the peices. On the two tea pots, there is a secondary number stamped under 2441. On the larger, it is 7, on the smaller, it is 6.

Re: Barbour Silver Company Tea Service

<>Your set is silverplated.  The piece with no cover is the waste bowl and never had a cover.  2441 would be the pattern/design number. The 6 & 7 is the size. 6 pints/7 pints
